Use Tech Life Hybrid Search for ordinary queries across its growing independent index and clearly labeled expanded sources. Optional direct-provider searches remain available when you deliberately choose them.
Inspect the independent index
Choose TLH Index Only in Settings to search the growing saved Tech Life Hybrid index. Live public sources are excluded in this mode. An empty category means no matching indexed record was available; All results may still have relevant pages.
Protect precise terms
Put an exact phrase in quotation marks. Keep error codes, product numbers, usernames, and technical identifiers intact. Add a descriptive word when a short code has several meanings.
Broaden one step at a time
Check spelling, remove one filter, shorten a long question, use Expanded sources, or choose an optional direct provider. Private, deleted, blocked, login-only, and undiscoverable pages may remain unavailable to every search engine.
Website addresses and coverage
TLH searches its growing independent index and the selected public sources shown on the results page. General web coverage remains limited. Ordinary web searches do not automatically replace missing destinations with Wikipedia or another search engine.
A complete public website address can offer a separate, user-selected navigation link. A reviewed exact website name can also offer a dated known-address action. These actions are not indexed search results or evidence that TLH has crawled the page. Availability, current content and safety are not established by an address link.
Recognized address searches show actual indexed matches for that destination separately. Missing matches remain missing. Domain blocks, known indexed Safe Search classifications and restricted-address checks still apply. A blocked or revoked known address is not offered; TLH does not automatically open it.
News, Images, Videos, Maps, and Research
Each tab searches a different kind of source. News uses publisher news pages; Images uses permitted image metadata with links to the original page; Videos uses actual video pages and publisher video metadata; Research uses papers and research resources. A general ticket-buying page is available in All, rather than being presented as a news story or research paper.
Maps needs a city, landmark, or address. Expanded sources uses OpenStreetMap place lookup when you select Maps. TLH Index Only excludes that live lookup. An empty category offers matching All results and an explicit control to enable expanded public sources.
Useful search operators
"exact phrase" keeps words together. -word excludes a word. site:example.com limits results to a site. filetype:pdf looks for a file format. after:2026-01-01 and before:2026-09-01 constrain dates. The independent search also supports intitle:, inurl:, lang:, and required terms beginning with +.
